Robert R. Nix II was elected as Township Supervisor in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. Prior to serving as the Supervisor, he served on the Township Planning Commission for 12 years and was the chairman from 2010, 2011, and 2012. Robert and his wife Suzanne moved to the Northville area in 1977 and have been residents of the Township since 1986. Their son and daughter both graduated from Northville High School. His community activities have included coaching in the parks and recreation programs and serving various leadership roles in the First United Methodist Church of Northville, various homeowners association and other community organizations.

Robert retired as a partner from the Law firm of Kerr, Russell and Weber after 43 years. He specialized in commercial law and litigation including, real estate, acquisition and development, leasing, financing, land use and zoning. He served as an arbitrator, mediator, facilitator, and case evaluator in complex commercial matters. He also taught a real estate development course at Wayne State University Law School from 2010-2014.

He is currently a member of the Executive Committee for the Conference of Western Wayne, the Chairman of Western Townships Utility Authority, Vice Chairman of the Schoolcraft Development Authority and serves in other leadership roles representing the Township.
