Bike Patrol
The bicycle unit patrols Northville Township residential areas,
business districts as well as Edward Hines Park and Maybury State
Park.
The unit has three mountain bicycles specially designed for police
work. The unit has officers that have been trained by the
International Police Mountain Bike Association. Officer Jim Fisher,
Officer Timothy Stevens, Officer Matt Mackenzie, Officer Carrie
Czelada and Officer Dave Roberts are currently on patrol when weather
permits 24 hours a day.
The bicycle patrol unit conducts bike safety presentations and
issues coupons for treats from local stores if a child is observed
wearing a helmet and being safe.
With hundreds of citizen contacts, you the residents have expressed
your overwhelming support for the bicycle program. We appreciate
your comments and request to see the patrol continue in your
neighborhoods.
If you would like the bicycle patrol unit to visit your school,
group or scout troop for a bicycle safety talk, please call Sergeant
Matt Mayes at (248) 449-5100 or by
email.
