Apartment Community Liaison Officer

Northville Township funded, from the Police Budget, a grant that enabled hiring an Apartment Community Liaison Officer. Samantha Bowlin has been promoted to Sergeant and, with that role, assumed additional responsibility. We want to thank Sergeant Bowlin for an outstanding job in establishing a solid rapport with the Northville Township apartment residence community.

In May, 2007 Officer Michael Burrough assumed her responsibilities as Apartment Community Liaison. He has been introduced to all of the communities and looks forward to serving you.  He  will patrol the Township's apartment communities, answer calls for service to the apartment communities, meet with the residents to discuss their concerns and be a facilitator to other community service agencies. Officer Burrough will rotate the dates and hours he spends at each apartment community. He will also utilize a coordinated community policing strategy to address community problems and develop partnerships that will serve to reduce crime and increase community satisfaction with police services.

Officer Burrough

Officer Burrough joined the Northville Township Police Department in July 2005. Prior to joining the department, he worked for five years at the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office. Before entering law enforcement, Officer Burrough was a Paramedic for the Huron Valley Ambulance Company.

In addition to his assignment as the Apartment Community Liaison Officer, he is an Evidence Technician and Fire Investigator. The duties of an Evidence Technician include collecting and processing crime scene evidence to determine the presence of fingerprints and DNA. In his role as the Fire Investigator, he works in conjunction with the Fire Department to determine the origin and cause of fires.

Officer Burrough works primarily 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. For additional information, call him at (248) 349-9400 or contact him by email.
